This very easy backpacking trip is a great introduction to backpacking in the High Sierra Mountains.

Our route takes us past May Lake inside Yosemite National Park, with its spectacular views of the mountains, to Raisin Lake, a warm swimming hole with pleasant campsites to reward you at the end of the day. On our layover day, we'll travel cross-country to a nearby ridge and show you how to use a topographical map and introduce you to compass navigation. This pleasant backpack is specifically suited to the novice backpacker, with lots of time for questions and instruction. The very easy trail will give you the opportunity to learn the basics of backpacking while providing awe-inspiring vistas of the granite mountains and glacial lakes that make Yosemite famous.

This trip is a good starting point to our more challenging backpacks that come later in the season once the snow melts on the higher mountain peaks.  You'll leave feeling confident about the wilderness and will have enjoyed a good women's weekend in the wilderness.

All food & community equipment provided. Personal equipment (backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad) available for loan if needed.  Please request when making your reservation.

Carpooling from the San Francisco Bay Area available.  Inquire with the office for further details.
